No, I am not considering this the BEST year I have had in the last 6 of my teaching career... Each year has its own special moments and events that it would be impossible to choose just one! From here on out, I am planning on making this an annual post... The Best Year Yet, and reflecting on the school year in order to make the next one the best yet.
2015-2016 was a change for me. I started my teaching career in 3rd grade for 2 years. After moving to Mississippi from Florida, I accepted a 4th grade teaching position and instantly fell in love. I taught 4th grade for 3 years, up until this past year, in which I was moved back to 3rd grade. I was sad to leave my teammates, but 3rd grade has always had a special place in my heart.
I was able to challenge my advanced reading class this year in so many new ways. I also challenged my below-level math class by pushing them out of their comfort zones (which is difficult for all of us... but the rewards are so GREAT!!!).
Some of my favorite moments from 2015-2016... The Best Year Yet:
August-October:
November:
December:
One of our most favorite days this year... when students walked into the Arctic Tundra!
January:
February:
March:
April-May:
If you've made it to the end of this post... I hope that you enjoyed seeing some of what went on in Room 10 this year. These kiddos will always have a special place in my heart. I'm looking forward to what next year brings!
